Visiting Chemist Credits Oswego for Success
Dr. Jeffrey Evans ’85 speaks fondly of his time as a student at Oswego, giving the example of spending long nights in the chemistry lab in the mid-1980s. Evans, senior director of integrated drug development services for Cambridge Laboratories Inc. in Germantown, Wis., returned to campus to give a career exploration presentation to students, faculty and staff on Feb 12. 

Oswego State Wins Two National Community Service Awards
The Oswego State Intercollegiate Athletics Department has been named the national winner of the Jostens/National Association Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Community Service Award in two categories: "an array of projects" and "ongoing project/activity" completed during the 2012-2013 academic year. 

NFL Internship ‘Best Experience of Life’ for Comm Studies Grad
Student media responsibilities and campus-based internships prepared Evan Kalus ’13 for the professional internship placement of his dreams. He worked production for the NFL Films, completing the 2013 season with new studio skills, important information about the industry and an invitation to return next year as a tape operator.

SUNY Oswego Students' Broadcast Projects Win National Honors
Students from SUNY Oswego won two awards in the recent Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts, a national competition.

Senior Class Gift
The Class of 2014 is raising money for a gift to the college, and invites you to participate in the effort by making a gift in honor of your student and his or her hard work. Donations received by April 8 will be published in the Commencement program and can be made online at

Senior Class T-Shirt
Help your graduating student keep SUNY Oswego close to the heart, and buy a Class of 2014 T-shirt before the April 8 deadline. Conceived and developed by senior class members, the T-shirt features the class logo and the class members’ “Top 10 reasons you know you’re an Oswego State alum.” Prices are $12 for a short-sleeve T-Shirt, $15 for a long sleeve T-shirt and $20 for a hoodie. Commencement Eve Torchlight Ceremony
The Oswego Alumni Association hosts one of the longest-standing traditions—the Commencement Eve Torchlight Dinner and Ceremony on Friday, May 16. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and advance reservations are required. The candlelight ceremony begins at 9 p.m. To make your dinner reservations and for more details, visit
