10 class years of GOLD alumni.

1 big impact.

Time has run out!    THANK YOU to the 360 GOLD donors who made gifts during the month of March.    Thanks to you Oswego Alumni Association board member, Dr. Raelynn Cooter '77, will donate $25,000 to The Fund for Oswego.

We'd like to also thank Tyler Edic ’13 who issued a challenge that he would donate an additional $5 for every member of the Class of 2013 who made a gift during March.

March Matchness FAQs

What is the purpose of the March Matchness?

The goal is to create a fun competition between GOLD classes while at the same time increasing the number of recent graduates giving back to SUNY Oswego. Why? Because giving to your alma mater matters – it creates programs, enhances educational resources and supports current students, just as those who came before you did on your behalf. And, your class could enjoy a year of bragging rights as March Matchness Champs!

Why is participation important?

The number of graduates who contribute to their alma mater each year is seen by many as an endorsement of the institution by those who know it best. University rankings are based, in part, on the number of alumni who support their alma mater. Prospective families view this number as a measure of the school’s reputation. Corporate and private foundations take into consideration the percentage of alums who give back as they weigh their decisions to fund grants at our institution.

Do gifts of all sizes count?

Yes. As always, we encourage alumni to make a thoughtful gift and to stretch when they are able, but there is no gift minimum. March Matchness is focused on increasing participation, so gifts at all levels are critically important. Not sure how much to give? How about the amount of your graduation year ($20.16, etc.)?

How is the winner determined?

Participation for all 10 classes will be updated on the website weekly. Whichever class has the most donors participate this month prior to the stroke of midnight on March 31 will be named March Matchness Champion.

I already made a gift this year. Does that count?

Thank you for your support! While all your gifts certainly help us reach our Annual Fund goals, this competition is based on the number of donors who make gifts THIS MONTH. If you make an additional participation gift during March Matchness, it WILL be counted toward your class donor total.

I have an outstanding pledge. If I make my pledge payment in March does that count?

Yes!

Who do I contact if I still have questions?
